KKH Kaufmännische Krankenkasse is seeking a Team Lead (m/f/d) Data Science & Technology to join their team as soon as possible, full-time or part-time.

Role Overview

This role involves building and strategically developing the Data Science team, ensuring stable and future-oriented operations. The team combines statistical expertise with modern software and platform competence to develop scalable AI solutions and operate high-performance data and AI platforms in the cloud and on-premise. The ideal candidate can connect people with diverse backgrounds, formulate clear visions, and successfully transition innovations into regular operations, driving data-driven decisions and digital transformation at KKH.

Responsibilities

Strategy & Alignment

• Develop a clear vision, strategic goals, and roadmaps for Data Science, Advanced Analytics, and AI platforms.
• Translate these into concrete concepts within the context of KKH's digital transformation.

Use Cases with Real Impact

• Identify, prioritize, and concretize data-driven use cases in collaboration with business departments.
• Take full responsibility for their implementation, from exploration and modeling to validation and stable, scalable production operation.

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead an interdisciplinary team of Data Scientists, Statisticians, and Technology Experts.
• Foster their professional and personal development.
• Create an environment where scientific excellence and practical implementation go hand in hand.

Platform Responsibility & Operationalization

• Oversee the development, operation, and continuous improvement of modern data and AI platforms, including cloud infrastructures, MLOps approaches, and scalable model deployment.
• Ensure high standards of quality, security, and governance.

Managing Complexity & Collaborative Action

• Structure and solve complex challenges related to data, models, scalability, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate closely with business departments, IT, data protection, information security, and management.
• Translate complex analysis results into well-founded recommendations.

Your Profile

Solid Professional Basis & Leadership Experience

• Completed degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a comparable field.
• Several years of leadership experience, ideally in managing complex projects or teams.

Excellence in Analytics & AI

• Deep knowledge of statistics, machine learning, and/or AI methods.
• Proven track record of successfully conceptualizing and implementing productive, impactful data solutions.

Technological Future Competence

• Proficiency in Cloud Computing, modern data architectures, container technologies, and MLOps.
• Comfortable working across modeling, platform, and operations.

Business Understanding & Translation Skills

• Ability to work effectively with business departments, understand complex business questions, and translate them into viable analytical and technological solutions with real added value.

Modern Leadership & Strong Communication

• Contemporary leadership style with a strong sense of responsibility and a passion for developing people and topics.
• Clear, decisive, and confident communication skills at all levels.
