Position Details

Title: Technical Writer
Contract: 9 months
Location: Warrenville, IL 60555
Pay Rate: $36/hr – $38/hr (negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors)

Summary

Writes a variety of technical articles, reports, brochures, and/or manuals for documentation for a wide range of uses. May be responsible for coordinating the display of graphics and the production of the document. May require a bachelor's degree in a related area and 2‑4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision; typically reports to a supervisor or manager. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Technical Writing, English, Communications, or a related field.
  • 2‑4 years of experience (preferably 5+) in technical writing, preferably with experience in supply chain, logistics, or related field.
  • Strong ability to interpret complex information and translate it into user‑friendly simplistic documentation.
  • Proficiency in using documentation tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and content management systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the energy sector or related industry is a plus.
  • Certification in technical writing or related discipline.
