Technical Writer

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Technical Writer to support the development of technical documentation for advanced electronic systems, sensors, and radar technologies. This role operates within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) and focuses on delivering high-quality technical publications in compliance with military standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Write, edit, and maintain technical documentation for system operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair
• Research and compile technical information from engineering data, contracts, and subject matter experts
• Develop documentation in page-based, electronic, and structured formats (HTML, XML, SGML)
• Ensure all documentation aligns with military specifications and standards
• Collaborate with engineers, technical leads, and cross-functional teams
• Perform quality assurance reviews to ensure accuracy, consistency, and clarity
• Create documentation for audiences with varying levels of technical expertise
• Participate in team activities within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field or related discipline
• OR
• Minimum 3 years of military experience in operations and maintenance involving radar, communications, electro-optics, networks, or IT-based systems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Ability to work in physically demanding environments when required
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of technical or engineering writing experience
• Experience writing to military specifications and standards
• Familiarity with structured authoring tools and formats (HTML, XML, SGML)
• Prior experience supporting defense or aerospace programs
• Willingness to obtain higher-level security clearance
• Experience as a military instructor or trainer
