Technical Writer

About

As a Technical Writer with XML experience, you will play a critical role in creating and maintaining clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation for our products and services. You will collaborate closely with subject matter experts, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather information and transform complex technical concepts into user-friendly content. Your proficiency in XML standards will be instrumental in ensuring the consistency, interoperability, and efficiency of our documentation. This position is a 6 month contract to direct hire.

Key Responsibilities

• Content Creation: Develop technical documentation, including user manuals, installation guides, system descriptions, and maintenance procedures, adhering to XML and S1000D standards for consistency and compliance.
• Information Gathering: Collaborate with subject matter experts and product development teams to gather technical information and insights required for documentation creation.
• Document Structuring: Apply XML tagging and structuring principles to content to facilitate easy retrieval, content reuse, and efficient management of information.
• S1000D Compliance: Ensure that all technical documentation adheres to S1000D specifications, including data modules, common source databases (CSDB), and associated metadata.
• Document Reviews: Conduct thorough reviews and quality checks on documents to verify accuracy, completeness, and adherence to established guidelines and standards.
• User-Centric Approach: Tailor documentation to the target audience, presenting complex technical information in a clear, concise, and accessible manner.
