Job Description Summary – Technical Writer (Quality)

Philips is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Technical Writer to support the creation, maintenance, and migration of controlled documentation within a regulated healthcare and medical device environment. This role is critical to ensuring documentation accuracy, compliance, and alignment with Good Documentation Practice (GDP), internal quality standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.

The Technical Writer will collaborate closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across Quality, Engineering, Regulatory, and Operations to author, revise, review, and finalize quality records. The role also manages documentation changes through formal change control workflows, ensuring traceability, consistency, and audit readiness.

In addition, this role supports and may lead document migration initiatives, including planning, data entry, validation, accuracy checks, and tracking. The successful candidate will contribute to continuous improvement efforts related to documentation workflows, systems, and quality processes in support of Philips’ commitment to patient safety and regulatory excellence.

Must Haves / Required Skills

Documentation & Quality Systems

  • Proven experience authoring, editing, and maintaining regulated quality documentation in compliance with GDP standards
  • Strong working knowledge of document control and change management processes
  • Experience creating and submitting Change Requests (CRs) within formal quality systems
  • Ability to perform detailed document reviews for accuracy, completeness, and compliance

Regulatory & Industry Experience

  • Experience working within a regulated industry (medical devices, healthcare, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, or similar)
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as ISO 13485, FDA QSR (21 CFR Part 820), or equivalent quality standards (preferred, not required)
  • Audit-ready mindset with strong attention to traceability and data integrity

Technical & Tools Proficiency

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word (templates, formatting, controlled documents)
  • Strong working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat (editing, commenting, review workflows)
  • Experience with document management systems (DMS) or quality platforms (e.g., Windchill, Veeva, TrackWise, SharePoint, or similar)
  • Comfortable working with tracking logs, spreadsheets, and controlled data repositories

Collaboration & Communication

  • Ability to effectively partner with cross-functional SMEs to gather content and resolve feedback
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical content into clear, compliant documentation
  • Proven ability to manage multiple documents and priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed environment

Work Style & Execution

  • Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Able to work independently while adhering to defined processes and quality expectations
  • Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify gaps and suggest workflow enhancements
  • Experience supporting or leading document migration and remediation efforts is a strong plus

How We Work Together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

For this project, you’ll be contracted via a Randstad company as a temporary worker/contractor and placed at our Client.

The hourly pay range for this role is $50-$54.00
