Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Technical Writer role based in North Vancouver, BC. The Technical Writer will be responsible for creating, revising, and managing technical documentation such as operational manuals, assembly guides, user guides, and specifications. The role involves collaborating closely with engineers, draftspeople, and project teams to ensure accuracy and clarity in all documentation. Additional tasks include conducting research, interpreting technical information, and maintaining consistency in style and format across all documents.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in technical writing, editing, and content development.
- Strong skills in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and data sheets.
- Experience with document formatting, revision control, and template creation.
- Proficiency with documentation tools and software, such as Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and CAD viewing tools.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineers, draftspeople, and project managers.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of marine industry standards and terminology is an asset.
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience working in an ISO-certified or safety-driven environment is a plus.
