Technical Writer Needed – REST API Documentation (Markdown)

I’m looking for an experienced technical writer to create clean, developer-friendly documentation for a set of REST API endpoints.

I will provide all the necessary details, including endpoint lists, parameters, response schemas, and authentication notes. Your role is to turn this into a clear, concise, and well-structured Markdown guide that developers can use immediately.

The goal is simplicity and clarity — no unnecessary detail, just what’s needed to integrate quickly and correctly.

Scope of Work

• Write structured API documentation in Markdown
• Organize content for clarity and ease of use
• Include request/response examples and usage guidance

Deliverables

• One well-structured Markdown file (or multiple logically separated .md files) covering all endpoints
• A quick-start section with authentication steps and a working sample request
• For each endpoint:
  • Method
  • URL
  • Short purpose description
  • Required and optional parameters
  • Sample cURL request
  • Example JSON response
  • Brief error example

Acceptance Criteria

• All code samples must be accurate and copy-paste ready
• Documentation must match actual API behavior
• Clear heading structure (H1–H3)
• Tables render properly in GitHub-style Markdown
• No unexplained terms or abbreviations

Requirements

• Experience documenting REST APIs
• Strong Markdown formatting skills
• Ability to write clear, concise, developer-focused content
• Attention to detail and accuracy
