Role & Mission

As a Test Bench Engineer, you will design, build, and maintain test benches and validation setups critical for Alta Ares’ hardware and embedded systems development. Your work will ensure the robustness, reliability, and performance of complex defense systems through rigorous testing.

Test Bench Development & Maintenance

• Design and implement test benches for functional, performance, and environmental testing of hardware modules and embedded systems
• Develop automated test scripts and procedures to streamline validation
• Maintain and upgrade existing test infrastructure
• Integrate test benches with data acquisition and monitoring tools

Validation & Verification

• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to validate system requirements
• Analyze test results and identify issues
• Work closely with design and development teams to troubleshoot and resolve problems
• Ensure compliance with defense and operational standards

Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve test processes and tools
• Implement automation to reduce manual testing effort and increase test coverage
• Document test setups, results, and best practices

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate with hardware, embedded software, and system engineering teams to align tests with design and operational goals
• Support field testing activities by ensuring consistency between lab and operational conditions

Requirements

Candidate Profile

• Degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, or related field
• Experience in designing and maintaining test benches for hardware systems
• Good knowledge of embedded systems validation and testing methodologies
• Experience with test automation, scripting (Python, LabVIEW, or similar) is a plus
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work in a dynamic startup environment with multiple concurrent projects

Nice to Have

• Experience in aerospace, defense, or C-UAS domain
• Hands-on experience with data acquisition systems and instrumentation
• Familiarity with military standards and testing protocols
