Description of the Department and Area of Activity

The Dev Ops department is responsible for the central CI/CD infrastructure and supports the software development teams in its use and further development. The department is divided into two specialized areas: the Core Team (Platform) and the Enablement Team (Agile Dev Ops). As a Platform Dev Ops Engineer, you will work cross-functionally across all development teams and be responsible for the operation, maintenance, ongoing platform migration, and further development of the central Dev Ops platform and infrastructure. The technical environment is primarily embedded-focused with C++ as the main language, operating systems such as Linux, and a fully operated infrastructure in the regulated defense environment.

Tasks

• Operation, maintenance, and further development of central services and applications of the Dev Ops platform, as well as migration of existing projects from the old to the new platform
• Operation, maintenance, and further development of the underlying infrastructure
• Creation and provision of cross-functional CI/CD pipeline components and templates
• Development and provision of cross-functional automations and in-house developments
• Creation and maintenance of platform documentation
• Conducting post-mortem analyses in case of infrastructure and service failures
• Developing measures for error prevention and avoidance of system failures
• Provision and management of external, cross-functional libraries and containers
• Provision, maintenance, and further development of cross-functional container templates
• Communication and coordination with IT teams and other stakeholders of the platform infrastructure
• Support in the use of the platform and individual services, as well as processing support requests

Qualifications

• Completed studies in Computer Science, Technical Computer Science, Business Informatics, Electrical Engineering with a focus on Computer Science, or a comparable field
• Basic knowledge of Git/Git Lab
• Basic Linux knowledge
• Knowledge of C/C++
• Kubernetes knowledge is an advantage
• Basic understanding of networks and operating systems
• Strong interest in platform architecture, infrastructure, and automation
• Ability to understand interactions between infrastructure, CI/CD, security, and developer processes
• Self-service mentality and active search for automation opportunities
• Independent, structured, and results-oriented way of working
• Fluent German and English skills, both written and spoken
