Steps Ahead is a youth-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to improving emergency preparedness, health education, and resource access for underserved communities. • *Role Description**

This is a part-time remote role for a Web Developer position. The Web Developer will design, build, and maintain user-friendly websites while working collaboratively with various teams to improve functionality and visual appeal. Responsibilities include front-end and back-end web development, creating responsive designs, and implementing features to support Steps Ahead’s programs. The Web Developer will contribute to developing innovative tools to connect communities with essential resources and enhance digital engagement. This is an unpaid, volunteer role. • *Qualifications** • Proficiency in Front-End Development and Web Design, using tools such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. • Experience with Back-End Web Development, including server-side programming and database management. • A strong foundation in Programming and Web Development concepts, with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize websites. • Knowledge of responsive design principles and user experience (UX) best practices. • Ability to work independently, adapt to feedback, and meet deadlines in a remote environment. • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Familiarity with nonprofit organizations and mission-driven work is a plus. • Current highschool or undergraduate student.
