Purpose of the Role

  • Provide single ownership of the web platform
  • Improve delivery speed and quality
  • Reduce reliance on external development support
  • Enable scalable website growth and governance

About the Role

Demand across creative and digital delivery now exceeds current team capacity, with increasing pressure across website maintenance, development, optimisation and governance. As marketing expands, product marketing roles are introduced and acquisitions integrate into the web estate, digital workload will continue to grow.

Process improvements improve visibility and prioritisation but do not create additional platform ownership or development capacity. A single accountable owner for the web estate is required to ensure stability, performance, compliance and scalable growth.

The Web Platform Manager consolidates front-end development and operational governance into one role, providing clear ownership of the organisation’s web platforms. This ensures faster delivery, improved quality control, reduced reliance on external support and a sustainable foundation for ongoing digital expansion.

The Web Platform Manager owns the organisation’s web estate, combining front-end development capability with operational governance and platform ownership. This role provides a single accountable owner responsible for maintaining, developing and evolving websites to ensure performance, consistency, compliance and scalability. Working closely with designers, content writers, marketing stakeholders and external partners, the role enables reliable delivery while supporting ongoing digital growth.
