Job Description

AVL List GmbH is seeking an enthusiastic Werkstudent to join our Data Science team in Graz. You will work alongside experienced data scientists and engineers, supporting the analysis of complex datasets, development of machine learning models, and implementation of data-driven solutions. Fluency in English is required as you will be part of an international team.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the collection, cleaning, and preprocessing of large datasets from various sources.
• Assist in the development and implementation of machine learning models and algorithms.
• Perform data analysis and visualization to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
• Contribute to the documentation of data science projects and methodologies.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate data science solutions into existing workflows.
• Research and evaluate new data science tools and techniques.

Required Skills

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
• Strong proficiency in Python (e.g., pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn).
• Familiarity with SQL for data querying and manipulation.
• Basic understanding of machine learning concepts and algorithms.
• Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, Tableau).
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Prior experience in the automotive industry or with engineering data.
• Understanding of big data technologies (e.g., Spark).
