Location: Permanent, full-time position in LaSalle (Montreal).

Job Summary

ATS Containers is looking for a skilled WordPress Developer with strong front-end abilities, some back-end WordPress experience, and solid SEO knowledge. You will create and update pages, improve layouts, fix display issues, and help modernize our website. We are also looking for someone who brings forward ideas, suggests improvements, and proactively recommends best practices and next steps for SEO, web design, and overall website strategy.

Responsibilities

Front-End WordPress Development

• Build and design new pages
• Improve layouts, readability, and mobile responsiveness
• Add and format text, images, tables, FAQs (EN/FR content)
• Maintain consistent branding and design quality

Back-End WordPress Tasks

• Update and configure themes, plugins, and settings
• Assist with PHP compatibility updates and general site improvements
• Troubleshoot display issues, conflicts, or slow-loading elements (PHP + MySQL)
• Collaborate with external developers when needed

SEO & Performance

• Apply on-page SEO best practices
• Update metadata, headings, alt text, internal links, schema
• Help improve page speed and core web vitals
• Ensure bilingual SEO consistency (WPML)
• AI Search Optimization

Content Management

• Upload and update product, service, and informational pages
• Clean up formatting issues (spacing, HTML tags, alignment, etc.)
• Ensure mobile-optimized and responsive layouts

Strategic Input & Best Practices

• Propose improvements for SEO, web performance, user experience, and page structure
• Suggest modern design upgrades and new page layout concepts
• Identify outdated elements and recommend updates
• Bring forward “what’s next” ideas for long-term website strategy
• Stay current with WordPress, SEO, and UX trends and apply them proactively

Required Skills

• 3–5+ years WordPress development experience
• Good eye for design, spacing, and layout consistency
• Strong front-end skills: HTML, CSS, page builders
• Basic PHP knowledge for small fixes
• Experience with WPML
• Understanding of SEO fundamentals (metadata, headings, structure, schema basics)
• Ability to troubleshoot WordPress and performance issues

Job Types: Full time, Permanent

Nice to Have

• Experience updating older WordPress/PHP environments
• Familiarity with caching, performance tools, and optimization
• Basic graphic design (Canva, Photoshop)
• Experience with GoDaddy, Kinsta, or similar hosting platforms
