Enterprise Data Architect

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Enterprise Data Architect to join our Financial Services consulting practice. The role will focus on defining and implementing enterprise-wide data architecture strategies, establishing robust data governance frameworks, and enabling scalable, modern data platforms across enterprise environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving data architecture best practices, supporting advanced data integration, and ensuring high-quality, secure, and reliable data solutions that support business and IT objectives.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement enterprise-wide data architecture strategies across the organisation
• Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support business requirements
• Establish and enforce data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks
• Define and implement data privacy and data lifecycle management policies
• Design and implement modern data architectures including data lakehouse, data mesh, and data fabric
• Develop and guide implementation of Lambda and Kappa architectures
• Architect and oversee enterprise data platforms and data warehouse solutions
• Work closely with IT and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable data solutions
• Guide and oversee ETL and ELT data engineering processes and data integration frameworks
• Ensure data platforms are scalable, secure, and optimised for performance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data platforms across systems
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to data engineering and architecture teams
• Drive adoption of AI and advanced data capabilities within the organisation
• Ensure documentation of data architecture standards, processes, and best practices

Technical Skills

• 18+ years of experience in data-related roles is mandatory
• Minimum 8+ years of experience as an Enterprise Data Architect is mandatory
• Strong expertise in data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks is mandatory
• Strong expertise in data privacy and data lifecycle management is mandatory
• Solid understanding of conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling is mandatory
• Strong experience with AWS platform and data services is mandatory
• Proficiency in modern data architecture paradigms such as data lakehouse, data mesh, data fabric, Data Integration Hub is mandatory
• Strong understanding of Lambda and Kappa architecture is mandatory
• Strong experience with SQL and Python is mandatory
• Hands-on experience in designing and modelling data warehouses is mandatory
• Strong experience in ETL and ELT data engineering methods is mandatory
• In-depth understanding of feature stores and associated pipelines is mandatory
• Strong understanding of AI and its application in enterprise data environments is mandatory
• Experience working in financial services environments an is preferred
• Experience with reporting semantic layers and reporting tools such as Power BI preferred
• Experience with Confluent Cloud for data integration is preferred
• Relevant certifications such as AMA, TOGAF, CDMP, AWS Solutions Architect are preferred
• Understanding of Microsoft Fabric is preferred
