About the Role

Help bridge the gap between engineering and AI innovation in Project NOVA. As an AI & ML Mechanical Engineer Intern, you’ll apply your technical expertise to guide model selection and ensure AI solutions meet real-world needs.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify AI/ML opportunities.
  • Design, build, and deploy AI/ML models.
  • Analyze large datasets to extract insights.
  • Document development processes and model results.
  • Present findings to stakeholders using visualizations and reports.
  • Stay updated with AI/ML advancements.
  • Bridge engineering and AI requirements.

Requirements

  • Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • Foundational understanding of finite element analysis — structural dynamics, modal analysis, eigenvalue problems, and mode shapes
  • Proficient in Python with hands-on experience using NumPy and SciPy for numerical data processing
  • Experience with 3D visualization libraries — PyVista, Matplotlib, or Plotly
  • OpenFOAM or fluid-structure interaction experience is a bonus but not required
  • Coding experience (Python or similar).

We Offer

In accordance with the Pay Transparency Act, we are committed to providing clear and accessible information about compensation for this role. The expected compensation range for this position is $24.00 to $30.00/hr. Actual compensation within this range will be determined based on several job-related factors, including relevant education, depth and breadth of experience, professional certifications or license, specialized skills aligned with the role, and internal equity considerations.

This role offers practical experience in the field of optical current measurement technology and sustainable energy transmission in an innovative company. You will work in a motivated team on forward-looking projects and gain insights into the latest technologies.
