About the role
You will be a part of the BESS tools team at Siemens Energy, working alongside international colleagues to enhance Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) Digitalization and Analytics. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with BESS stakeholders to identify areas for improvement in current techniques - Exploring various feature extraction methodologies and performance metrics of batteries to discover insights - Developing new monitoring indicators and algorithms using time series prediction and anomaly detection techniques - Utilizing supervised/unsupervised machine learning techniques to build predictive models for prognostics applications and predictive maintenance - Running cloud-based data models to enhance battery power and energy estimation based on data points across various drive cycles and geographies - Accelerating battery analytics platform development and model management using cloud-native solutions
To qualify for this role, you should have:
- A BS/BE/BTech or MS/MCA degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering - A Masters or PhD in Statistics, Computer Science, Machine Learning, etc. is preferred - Proficiency in data mining, mathematics, statistical analysis, and hands-on experience in AI/Data Science - At least 6-8 years of experience in design and development - Ability to work independently as an individual contributor - Customer focus and effective stakeholder management skills
Expected Skills:
- Knowledge of data wrangling, data cleaning, and data visualization techniques - Proficiency in signal processing, statistics, time series forecasting, probabilistic machine learning, and deep learning frameworks - Programming skills in Python/R/MATLAB, and experience with standard data visualization libraries and deep learning frameworks - Understanding of different Cloud Systems, particularly AZURE/AWS - Experience with agile projects and tools such as Git, Leankit, Jenkins, and Jira - Proficiency in querying SQL & No SQL databases - Experience in developing and deploying end-to-end data science pipelines into production - Good analytical, debugging, and tracing skills with a focus on clean code principles
Additional Requirements:
- Knowledge in the battery electrification domain and lithium-ion batteries - Basic understanding of FastAPI, DASH, Streamlit, Gradio - Experience with distributed data/computing tools like Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, MySQL
