About

The Data Scientist / Data Architect is responsible for the setup, administration, and further development of the company-wide data architecture. The goal of the role is to integrate, process, and make data from various internal and external sources usable for analyses, product functions, and calculations in a structured manner. The role ensures that data processing is comprehensible, consistent, and efficient, serving as the basis for data-driven decisions.

Responsibilities

• Setup and further development of the data architecture and underlying data models
• Connection and integration of data sources, especially APIs, databases, files, and external data providers
• Development and operation of data pipelines for the extraction, transformation, and provision of data
• Modeling, structuring, and maintenance of data in suitable database systems and data stores
• Ensuring data quality, consistency, and traceability throughout the entire data lifecycle
• Conducting data analyses and developing statistical models and data science methods
• Support in the development of risk and calculation models in the context of the platform
• Creation and maintenance of dashboards and reports for visualizing key figures and analyses
• Close collaboration with Engineering and Product to implement business requirements into data structures
• Creation and maintenance of technical documentation, especially on data flows, data models, and transformation logic
• Support in the introduction of new data sources, tools, and data processes
• Collaboration with internal departments as well as external data providers and partners

Qualifications

• Good knowledge in the setup and operation of data architectures and data pipelines
• Experience in handling databases, data modeling, and data integration
• Experience with cloud-based data architectures, ideally in AWS
• Knowledge in data science, statistics, and analytical methods
• Experience with visualization tools and dashboarding
• Understanding of data quality, data consistency, and structured data processing
• Basic knowledge of IT security and handling sensitive data
• Structured, careful, and solution-oriented way of working
• High sense of responsibility in handling productive data and systems
• Ability to document and communicate complex data structures comprehensibly

Education

• Completed degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or comparable qualification
• Alternatively, a comparable practical qualification with corresponding professional experience
• Several years of practical experience in data processing, data architecture, or data science is an advantage
• Experience with cloud technologies and modern data platforms is an advantage
• Experience in a regulated environment or with regulatory data requirements is an advantage
• Very good German language skills, both written and spoken
• Good English language skills are an advantage
