Professional Solutions Delivered, LLC (ProSoDel) is a total solutions provider for government and commercial customers in the areas of Program Management, Logistics, Organizational Change Management, Communications, Training, and Information Technology (IT) Support Services. We are currently seeking an on‑site Data Scientist (Junior) to join our team of professionals in support of the USMC MCICOM G‑9 Directorate.
Essential Duties & Job Functions
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the COLS framework installation function and subfunction capabilities, including data entry, basic analysis, and testing support for updates to the framework.
- Support the preparation and coordination of the annual COLS other‑than‑labor costing, manpower costing, and performance management data collection efforts, ensuring data accuracy, updating information as directed, and consolidating feedback for review by senior team members.
- Assist in gathering requirements for improving the LFS Apps COLS Application, ensuring the accurate transfer of data between systems and generating basic reports or visuals under the guidance of senior staff.
- Help maintain and update the COLS Power BI Dashboard, including assisting with data inputs and generating simple visuals or analyses for review by supervisors.
- Provide administrative and organizational support for the COLS App and other associated systems, ensuring data is updated and assisting with system troubleshooting.
- Participate in and provide documentation for meetings with COLS functional communities of interest (HQ and regional experts), assisting with updating cost estimates and refining performance data under direction.
- Provide support to the team in developing and testing portions of the COLS Executive Resource and Risk Management system, ensuring organized feedback is collected, and changes are implemented as needed.
- Assist in the analysis of COLS OTL and Labor out‑year cost estimate data, supporting validation efforts and reconciling basic data discrepancies under supervision.
- Gather and organize data for review using quantitative methods as directed.
- Assist in review sessions with subject matter experts, ensuring documentation of feedback and changes.
- Follow established DoD cost estimation techniques and statistical tools as instructed.
- Support the development of error‑limiting approaches and implement them under guidance.
- Help compile and review COLS cost estimates, ensuring data alignment with PBIS, DAI, and COLS data as needed for reports or decision reviews.
- Participate in COLS training and support efforts, administering basic updates to the COLS App and providing guidance to users as needed.
- Assist in the review and preparation of updates to orders, directives, and policies governing COLS programs, drafting summaries and communicating changes to relevant stakeholders with supervisor oversight.
- Support the development of the Commander’s Organizational Risk Estimate (CORE) report, aiding in data collection, preparing materials, and assisting in report creation under the direction of senior team members.
- Perform related work as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education
- Must have at least three (3) years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree.
Experience and Requirements
- Experience integrating data from multiple data sources into customized solutions.
- Experience using Python (preferably along with one or more of the following: Pandas, Polars, Scikit‑Learn, etc.).
- Foundational knowledge of machine learning techniques and algorithms.
- Some level of experience with statistics (professionally or via coursework).
- Experience working with a diverse and often conflicting group of stakeholders.
- Ability to travel both CONUS and OCONUS as required/necessary.
Preferences and Nice to Haves
- A math degree with any relation to statistics is a plus.
- Skilled in developing executive‑level correspondence and management programs involving executive‑level participants.
- Proficiency in briefing and communication skills to senior Government personnel and/or Military personnel (e.g., O‑6 level and above), Military Commanders and their staff, organizational leaders, and peers.
- USMC or other Military service experience is a huge plus.
Clearance
- Must be a United States Citizen.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC); active DoD clearance highly desired.
- As a condition of employment, the employee must successfully complete a background investigation and a drug screen in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
