Data Science is an essential part of our Digital Transformation goals, and they are ambitious in the complexity of our retail organization. To remain number 1 in the DIY market, we must use data smartly to remain innovative and efficient.

About the role:

The team has already made great strides in data-driven innovation over the past two years. We have delivered and analyzed the first products. Now, as a team, we are ready to further optimize and develop these successes. As a Data Scientist, you will work on building and optimizing machine learning models and data pipelines that directly contribute to these goals. You will play a key role in realizing the roadmap, with a focus on translating data into concrete insights that support our business objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Analyzing the performance of processes, strategic projects, customer data, and product combinations to gain insights and improve customer experience and business processes.
• Developing predictive models (including customer value, inventory management, pricing strategy, customer journeys) to support data-driven decision-making.
• Building and optimizing advanced machine learning solutions, deep learning models, and data architectures/pipelines.
• Translating complex business issues into innovative data science solutions and leading impactful projects.
• Managing and coaching the data science team and collaborating with stakeholders (e.g., Marketing, Supply Chain, IT) while actively promoting data science within and outside the organization.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in a comparable role.
• Strong technical skills in machine learning, deep learning, advanced data analysis techniques, and proficiency in programming languages (Python, R, SQL).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and tools/frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, MLflow, Dataiku, or Databricks (MLOps/LLM knowledge is a plus).
• Good business skills: ability to develop data solutions and clearly communicate complex insights in Dutch.
• Leadership qualities: functional management and experience with project and stakeholder management.

• A gross monthly salary of € 3,694 and €6,422 (Intergamma pays per 4-week period).
