Position Overview

VES is seeking a Junior Data Scientist with an active security clearance to join our exciting team. This role provides the opportunity to develop technical and security‑related skills while being part of a great team.

Responsibilities

• Process and analyze large datasets using Python while ensuring the security and integrity of the data is in full compliance with security protocols.
• Assist in developing and implementing machine learning models using Python libraries.
• Present complex data‑related findings in a clear and concise manner.

Location

The anticipated work location is in Arlington, VA or Dahlgren, VA (we anticipate a position in each location).

Travel

• Infrequent local travel

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field
• Familiarity with data analysis and visualization libraries in Python (e.g., pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib).
• Strong problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
• Detailed‑oriented
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities.
• Clearance: SECRET

Desired Experience

• Experience working in a secure, data‑sensitive environment.
• Knowledge of additional programming languages or big data tools
• Prior experience or internships in data science or related fields
