(Junior) Data Scientist (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement data models and algorithms for customer-specific solutions.
• Identify and analyze problems within an analytical framework.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines and dashboards.
• Work on a variety of data-related components such as data platforms, dashboards, and products related to data and machine learning.
• Work on complex projects and datasets, analyze business problems, and translate them into data science solutions.
• Analyze customer problems and effectively communicate results through strong communication skills.
• Work across various technology stacks (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP, DBX, ELK, Spark, Databricks, etc.).
• Mentor junior data scientists and facilitate knowledge transfer within the team.
• Advance technical development and be present in the machine learning community through team benefits, learning resources, hackathons, and other sources.

Qualifications

• University degree with a technical background, e.g., in Computer Science, Business Informatics, (Business) Mathematics, Data Science, or a similar technical degree.
• Relevant experience in data science & data management or the development of production systems.
• Good knowledge of Python, R, Rust, Pyspark, or SQL.
• Familiarity with the fundamentals of statistics and machine learning, including their applications in production such as NLP, recommender systems, time series analysis, and computer vision.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure.
• Good communication skills in German and English.
• Willingness to learn, team spirit, and ability to communicate technical concepts understandably.
• Good project management skills and ability to work independently as well as in a team.
