Principal Statistical Analyst/Data Scientist

Job Description

• Solves complex, strategic issues with analytical insights by identifying potential use cases across multiple business units or domains.
• Builds and validates predictive models of high risk/reward problems with no initial solution utilizing large scale data from multiple data sources and methodologies.
• Uses machine learning techniques to create data-driven solutions for various business use-cases
• Leads projects with external partners to meet project requirements while resolving any issues that may arise.
• Writes code for the scope of work being done.
• Leads the development data science standards for the department.
• Manipulates large data sets from multiple data sources to derive insights or create new analytical solutions
• Communicates complex analytical concepts and techniques senior management
• Works work collaboratively with other data scientists and multiple stakeholders across the business unit and with external partners.
• Mentors and assists in technically supervising less experienced Data Scientists.
• Leads best practice sharing opportunities and knowledge of industry trends and innovations in data science.
• Supports relationships through strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a quantitative field including but not limited to data science, analytics, and statistics and 10+ years of data science experience.
• 10 years of programming experience in statistical software (Python, SAS) and able to demonstrate proficiency at an expert level
• Expert in Predictive Learning and Machine Learning Tools (Python and SAS preferred) and methodology
• Expert in applying analytical techniques to problems and applications within credit risk
• Experience working in financial services and/or credit industry
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Expert in creating and delivering presentations to executive management
