The Director of RF Engineering will lead the strategy, design, optimization, and performance of radio access networks. This important role is responsible for delivering high‑quality, scalable, and cost‑effective RF solutions while driving innovation, operational excellence, and cross‑functional alignment.
What will your job look like?
- This role needs strong executive presence, and the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders at the highest levels.
- Define and execute RF network strategy aligned with business and growth objectives.
- Lead RF planning, design, optimization, and performance management across various technologies (2G/3G/4G/5G, ORAN, VRAN).
- Own network KPIs, capacity planning, coverage, and quality targets.
- Drive continuous improvement through automation, analytics, and new technologies.
- Provide technical leadership on spectrum utilization, interference mitigation, and network modernization.
- Partner with Product, SW, Partners, Operations, and Vendor teams to ensure end‑to‑end network performance.
- Manage budgets, vendor performance, and RF tools/solutions.
- Build, mentor, and develop high‑performing RF engineering teams.
- Handles regulatory, audit, and customer escalations.
- Ensure cross‑region/global best‑practice adoption of RF design processes and tools.
- Collaborate with Sales, Pre‑Sales to support RFPs & technical proposals.
- Establish governance, performance dashboards, and review mechanisms with internal leadership and customer executives.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- 15+ years of RF engineering experience, including 5 years and above in leadership roles.
- Solid expertise in RF planning, optimization, and performance management.
- Hands on experience with large‑scale wireless networks and multi‑vendor deployments.
- Solid understanding of spectrum strategy, propagation models, and RF tools.
- Strong analytical, decision‑making, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Experience working with Tier 1 operators or global telecom OEMs.
- Proven track record leading large, distributed engineering teams across multiple geographies.
- Experience in customer‑facing executive engagements (CTO/VP‑level).
- Strategic thinker, deep RF expertise, strong people leadership, clear customer‑focused communication, and cross‑functional change‑driving capability.
