The Marketing Applied Sciences team is dedicated to creating analytics-driven solutions that empower GM Marketing Organizations to achieve their business objectives. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be a key member of this innovative team, driving the design, development, and deployment of analytical models that support effective marketing strategies. Your expertise in marketing analytics, particularly in inferential and prescriptive methods, will be essential, along with your experience in web, email, and media measurement. In this role, you will collaborate closely with your colleagues in Marketing Applied Sciences and various stakeholders within GM's Marketing organization. Your mission will be to ensure accurate performance evaluation and optimization of media strategies. You will take part in researching and developing advanced marketing models that extract valuable insights and create scalable solutions across owned and paid media channels. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a forward-thinking, consumer-centric approach as GM transitions to electric vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a diverse and cross-functional team to implement impactful, data-driven solutions addressing business challenges faced by vehicle brand marketing teams, ensuring deliverables meet business needs and timelines.
- Apply your understanding of advertising and media, along with familiarity with marketing media measurement techniques like site/clickstream measurement and A/B testing.
- Work alongside CRM, Marketing, and Data Science teams to create advanced measurement frameworks that assess campaign effectiveness, incremental revenue impacts, and consumer engagement throughout lifecycle stages.
- Utilize advanced data-driven modeling techniques to facilitate informed decision-making and tackle complex business challenges, including data preprocessing from various sources and effective data visualization.
- Demonstrate a strong ability to leverage data, analytics, and insights to create meaningful business impact.
- Exhibit a mindset of inquisitive curiosity, consistently asking questions and suggesting experiments to enhance incremental impact.
- Communicate effectively by crafting concise, data-driven narratives suitable for a variety of stakeholders, from analysts to senior executives.
- Implement advanced modeling and analytics techniques to analyze customer journey data across CRM touchpoints, identifying opportunities to enhance customer acquisition, retention, and engagement strategies, while optimizing campaign targeting and channel strategies.
Qualifications
- A Master's Degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar role, developing, deploying, and monitoring large analytic datasets and machine learning models.
- At least 2 years of experience in CRM, marketing analytics, or lifecycle management.
- Strong expertise in statistical concepts and the ability to select appropriate modeling techniques.
- Knowledge of statistical methods for campaign measurement including uplift/net lift modeling and causal inference.
- Proficiency in Python/R (for modeling) and SQL/Spark (for data handling), with experience in Pandas, StatsModels, PYMC, TensorFlow, Pytorch, Spark/ML, sklearn, numpy, and related packages.
- A track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously without compromising quality.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in fields such as Marketing Science, Econometrics, Statistics, (Bio)Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or Operations Research.
- Experience using cloud computing platforms like Azure, with particular emphasis on Databricks.
- Familiarity with advanced methodologies such as customer lifetime value, media mix modeling, multi-touch attribution, and more.
- Prior experience with paid, earned, and owned media and/or marketing analytics.
Compensation & Benefits
The salary range for this role is $129,400 - $198,400. Actual offers may vary based on relevant factors. In addition, an incentive pay program ties payouts to company performance, job level, and individual contributions. Location
This position is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere in the country. Travel may be required as directed by management.
