Senior Engineer - Civil - Projects

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage civil engineering activities related to power and energy projects, ensuring timely and quality completion aligned with project objectives and budget.
• Coordinate with design teams to review and validate civil drawings, structural designs, and specifications to meet engineering standards and project requirements.
• Oversee site execution including foundation work, structural erection, concreting, and finishing works with a focus on safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and ensure resources, materials, and manpower are adequately planned and deployed.
• Monitor and enforce compliance with statutory regulations, safety norms, and Adani’s internal policies to foster a safe and sustainable work environment.
• Collaborate closely with procurement, contracts, and vendor management teams to ensure timely availability of materials and services.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify risks, deviations, and implement corrective action plans to mitigate project delays and cost overruns.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and site staff, enhancing team capability and knowledge sharing.
• Prepare and present comprehensive progress reports, project documentation, and status updates to senior management and stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for construction methodologies and processes to optimize efficiency and quality standards.
• Facilitate effective communication between internal departments, external contractors, consultants, and government authorities.
• Support commissioning activities and ensure civil works are completed as per final project requirements and quality benchmarks.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in civil engineering design software such as AutoCAD, STAAD.Pro, or equivalent.
• In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, materials, and quality standards.
• Familiarity with project management tools like MS Project or Primavera.
• Understanding of statutory codes, regulations, and standards applicable to power/energy sector projects.
• Competence in interpreting structural drawings, technical specifications, and contract documents.
• Ability to conduct site inspections, quality audits, and risk assessments effectively.

Qualifications

Education Qualification

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university or institution.
• Postgraduate qualifications or relevant specialization in project management or construction management will be an added advantage.

Experience

• 3-5 years of progressive experience in civil engineering roles specifically within the Power or Energy industry, with proven expertise in project management, site execution, and cross-functional coordination.
