Job Description
Your Role
Seasoned backend specialist skilled in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and robust Java development. The role encompasses crafting and maintaining AEM templates, components, and integrations while upholding clean coding practices.
Job Responsibilities
AEM Development & Maintenance
•
Design, develop, and maintain AEM templates, components, services, and workflows to deliver high‑quality digital experiences.
•
Collaborate closely with front‑end teams to ensure seamless integration of UI components within the AEM platform.
•
Define, implement, and govern content structures such as content types, taxonomies, and metadata schemas.
Java Development
•
Write clean, scalable, and maintainable Java code to enhance AEM backend functionality.
•
Apply Java best practices, profiling, and performance tuning to ensure optimal AEM instance health.
•
Work across Java-based frameworks and tooling aligned with the AEM ecosystem.
System Integration
•
Integrate AEM with enterprise systems, databases, and third‑party services using APIs and web services.
•
Ensure data consistency, reliability, and integrity across all integration points.
Code Quality & Best Practices
•
Champion clean coding principles and ensure backend implementations follow engineering standards.
•
Lead and participate in code reviews to raise and maintain high-quality delivery.
•
Track AEM patch releases and apply updates proactively for security and performance compliance.
Performance & Scalability
•
Monitor and optimize AEM backend performance to maintain stability and responsiveness.
•
Partner with infrastructure teams to develop scalable architectures that support increasing traffic and content.
Experience & Qualifications
•
6+ years of software development experience, including 5+ years of hands‑on AEM expertise across architecture, components, and content lifecycle.
•
Strong Java backend development experience, including proficiency with Spring Framework.
•
Proven experience with Adobe Experience Manager—from solution design to component implementation.
•
Deep knowledge of OSGi (components, services, lifecycle, modularization).
•
Solid understanding of JCR standards, including node structures, versioning, XPath, and SQL2 queries.
•
Experience with AEM search solutions, including Solr integration.
•
Consistent application of clean code principles in production environments.
•
Strong experience designing and consuming RESTful services and implementing integration patterns within AEM.
•
Proficiency with Git and modern version control workflows.
•
Hands‑on experience with CI/CD pipelines and associated tooling.
•
Knowledge of AEM Dispatcher configuration, caching behavior, and performance tuning.
•
Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) to accelerate delivery.
•
Familiarity with CDN architecture and best practices for global content delivery.
•
Commitment to code quality through peer reviews, testing practices, and adherence to engineering standards.
•

•

Academic requirements
•
Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related computer engineering degree is preferred but relevant work experience and proven background is foremost
