Senior Staff Data Scientist (AI Tools & Development)

Role Overview: As a member of the Data Science and Tools Development team at Seagate's Product Development Group, you will be leading and delivering end-to-end data science and AI initiatives. Your responsibilities will include designing, developing, and deploying advanced machine learning and Generative AI solutions to address complex business and engineering challenges. You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders, communicate insights effectively, collaborate with external research institutions, and stay updated with emerging trends in data science and AI.

Key Responsibilities: - Lead and deliver end-to-end data science and AI initiatives, from problem definition to production deployment. - Design, develop, and deploy advanced machine learning and Generative AI solutions. - Translate business and technical problems into scalable, data-driven solutions. - Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to align AI solutions with business objectives. - Communicate insights and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences. - Collaborate with external research institutions on data science initiatives. - Stay current with emerging trends in data science, machine learning, and Generative AI.

Qualifications Required: - Master's or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or related quantitative field. - 8+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, and/or Generative AI. - Hands-on development and deployment of production ML and Generative AI systems. - Proven delivery of end-to-end GenAI solutions. - Experience with large-scale data analysis, feature engineering, and statistical modeling. - Proficiency in Python and SQL. - Experience mentoring junior data scientists and providing technical leadership.
