Site Reliability Engineering Product Owner
Maersk
About the role
Product Owner - SRE
Role Overview
As an SRE Product Owner, you will drive the vision, roadmap, and delivery of AI-powered reliability, automation, and support platforms at Maersk. Your mandate is to reduce operational toil, improve reliability, and transform IT support by embedding AI and automation into day-to-day workflows across global teams.
You will operate at the intersection of ITSM, Business Analysis, Product Ownership, and Applied AI, ensuring opportunities are identified, converted into product requirements, and delivered into impactful, scalable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities

- Identify and shape opportunities for improvement
- Analyse ITSM processes, incident patterns, SLAs/SLOs, and operational workflows to identify automation and AI intervention points.
- Translate operational pain points into structured problem statements with measurable business outcomes.
- Partner with operations, engineering, and support teams to uncover constraints, dependencies, and value opportunities.
- Use data, metrics, and process insights to prioritise improvements that reduce MTTR, improve service reliability, and remove manual toil.
Product Ownership & Delivery Execution
- Convert opportunities into clear product requirements and drive end-to-end delivery
- Define and own the product vision, roadmap, and release strategy for AI-enabled reliability and automation capabilities
- Translate opportunities into well-defined product epics, features, and user stories with crisp acceptance criteria
- Run backlog refinement, prioritisation, and sprint ceremonies, ensuring work is aligned to outcomes—not just output
- Manage sequencing, dependencies, and delivery milestones across multiple squads in a global environment
- Ensure new capabilities are rolled out, adopted, and delivering measurable value—not stopping at feature release
AI / Automation Collaboration & Value Realization
- Work closely with engineering to shape solutions and drive impact
- Possess foundational understanding of AI/ML concepts, automation frameworks, and decision systems to collaborate effectively with engineering teams
- Contribute to defining expected model outputs, automation logic, guardrails, and success metrics
- Monitor AI performance in production—accuracy, drift, failure modes—and facilitate continuous improvement
- Drive enterprise-wide adoption of AI capabilities in daily workflows through structured rollout, change management, and feedback loops
- Track outcome-based KPIs such as:
- MTTR reduction
- Incident and noise reduction
- Automation coverage
- AI feature usage, trust, and adoption
Core Capabilities
- Strong ITSM and business analysis mindset—able to understand process bottlenecks, operator challenges, and reliability gaps
- Relentless execution and ownership of roadmap, backlog, and product delivery
- Ability to translate complex operational problems into simple, buildable, testable product requirements
- Hands‑on PO comfortable with writing user stories, acceptance criteria, success metrics, and testable outcomes
- Data‑driven decision maker with strong customer/operator empathy
- Excellent communicator who aligns stakeholders, unblocks teams, and maintains delivery momentum
- Comfortable operating in high‑availability, high‑impact environments.
Required Experience & Skills
- 5+ years as a Product Owner/Product Manager in enterprise environments
- Proven experience shaping and delivering AI, automation, or reliability‑focused products in production
