Lead the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) function for a large, mission critical program, owning end to end production reliability, incident management, and L3 support. Drive automation, observability, and engineering excellence to ensure high availability, performance, and resilience of critical applications and platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Own production reliability and availability of key applications/platforms for the program, defining and enforcing SLIs/SLOs and error budgets.

• Lead L3 production support: handle complex escalations, deep dive root cause analysis, and ensure permanent fixes to reduce recurring incidents.

• Run incident management end to end: lead major incident response, coordinate cross team efforts, and conduct post mortems with clear action plans.

• Build and lead a team of SREs; mentor engineers, review designs, and enforce best practices in monitoring, alerting, and runbooks.

• Drive automation of repetitive L3 tasks (deployments, failovers, remediation) to reduce toil and improve MTTR.

• Collaborate closely with development, infrastructure, and business teams to improve system design, capacity planning, and release stability.

• Maintain and evolve UAT/staging environments to ensure production like testing and smooth releases for the program.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10–12+ years in SRE, DevOps, or production engineering, with 4–6 years in a leadership role.

• Proven experience running 24x7 production for large, distributed systems in a financial or regulated environment.

• Strong technical skills in Linux, networking, observability (metrics/logs/traces), CI/CD, and at least one programming/scripting language (Java, Python, Go, etc.).

• Hands on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).

• Deep experience with incident management, root cause analysis, and reliability engineering practices (SLOs, error budgets, chaos engineering, etc.).

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to both technical and business audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in banking, trading, or capital markets technology.
